Founding
Principles
Founded in 1979,
Shoresh, Inc. is a coeducational year-round Jewish education
youth program with a special six-week summer camp program.
Our programming includes year-round teen and adult education
programs. Shoresh is the only program of this nature in Frederick
County.
Camp Shoresh
Mission Statement
Shoresh builds positive Jewish identity among children and their families, primarily in Frederick and in surrounding communities, regardless of prior Jewish knowledge, affiliation or observance, through a variety of educational, recreational and experiential opportunities. Utilizing its campus and facilities in Adamstown and fostering close personal relationships among participants and staff, Shoresh emphasizes appreciation of our Jewish roots and love for Israel and the Jewish people.
Financial Aid
Financial aid is
given on an individual basis. Parents receiving scholarship
assistance are expected to volunteer for fundraisers and assist
with camp activities. This very active corps of parent volunteers
coordinates many vital aspects of the Shoresh organization
including camp lunches, family
picnics and barbecues, and daily kitchen management.
Please be aware that financial aid for Shoresh is based on involvement and attendance at Shoresh events, activities, and shabbatonim. Your volunteerism at bi-monthly Bingos is greatly appreciated but will not be reflected in your payment for our programs.
