Fidler Teen Torah Center Trip Scholarship Fund

Thank you for giving our teens a chance to connect to their rich Jewish heritage by spending time with their Shoresh family during winter break. Through your generosity, you are helping us to build potential Jewish families. Many of our graduates attribute their time on these trips as a major reason why they married a fellow Jew, have raised a Jewish family, and have a love for the Jewish people and the State of Israel. It is only due to the support of friends like you that we are able to help Jewish children grow and thrive in their Judaism.

Donate in memory of Naomi Lazerow a"h

Naomi Lazerow, together with her husband Carl, became involved with Shoresh more than 25 years ago when their children, Lanie, Alan and Nina, started attending camp. She loved everything Shoresh – from running the Junior Shoresh Division in camp and assisting with the Frederick Shabbatons, to being an active participant in Shoresh classes and events, including Simchas Torah and other holiday festivities. There was nothing Naomi wouldn’t do to benefit the Shoresh kids and staff. Donating in her memory will keep the Shoresh flame burning bright for years to come.

Donate in memory of Michael Klein a"h

Michael Klein a”h was one of our most generous patrons, donating cabin rooms to our campus and contributing several camp scholarships. He was a major sponsor of our winter teen trips and donated 18 half scholarships for our 2019 Fidler Teen Torah trip to Israel. Michael and Jennifer Klein’s legacy will be cemented forever on the Shoresh campus with their donation of the Klein Aquatics Center. Donating in his memory will allow us to continue with the work he so generously supported.

Donate in memory of Mrs. Carol Kosman a"h

Rebbetzin Kosman a”h stood side by side with Rabbi Kosman, zt”l, leading the Frederick community for more than 50 years. At Beth Sholom Congregation and as the founders of Shoresh, together they raised generations of Jewish families, and leave a legacy of love for Judaism and the Jewish people. Donating in her memory will help us to continue fulfilling the Kosman mission.

Donate to the Gilad Schwartz a"h Scholarship Fund

Camp Shoresh held a special place in Gilad’s heart – as a camper and later, as a star staff member.

This fund will allow more children to attend Camp Shoresh and other year-round programs.

The money raised will be a zechut (merit) to the memory of Gilad Hillel ben Eliyahu Mordechai.

Donate to the Rocky Pesach Fund

From Kenny Friedman, Former Staff Member and Current Board Member:

Some of you might remember that once a year, I collect money for a special, God-fearing man that we met years ago in Jerusalem who we affectionately call Rocky – short for Yerachmiel. If you ask anyone from past Shoresh Israel trips, they will all tell you of the impact that Rocky has made. He has accompanied us on all of the Shoresh Israel trips, and is much more than a guard. He is a friend, adviser, and role model for our children, remaining in touch with many of them, continuing to mentor and guide them. He has spent hours and hours of his time talking to the kids and helping them get in touch with their Jewish heritage.

Many of us who make a Pesach Seder take it for granted. But as you know, making a Seder can become quite costly. For those of you who don’t know, Rocky and his wife have 15 children, and have even adopted two children with Down’s Syndrome to help give them a better life. Rocky’s family also has several grandchildren, so you can imagine that during this festival he could really use some financial assistance. In the spirit of such a wonderful mitzvah, Hashem should bless you for a chag kasher v’sameach, a happy, healthy and kosher Passover! Tizku l’mitzvos and all the best!
