Rabbi Dave will be returning for his 23rd summer as the Director of Camp Shoresh. Prior to directing Shoresh, Rabbi Dave was a dedicated counselor for four years. Additionally, Rabbi Dave taught Judaic Studies at Beth Tfiloh Community Day School in Baltimore for 18 years. He is the head advisor of Frederick’s senior and junior chapters in the National Conference of Synagogue Youth (NCSY.) Rabbi Dave is also the Director of the Shoresh Fidler Teen Torah Center (TTC) and serves on the Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore’s Education Committee. Rabbi Dave and his wife Debbie have four children, Avi,Elisheva, Chaim, and Yoni.

Rabbi Stein joined Shoresh in its second year and has been an integral part of the family ever since. Rabbi Stein started as a Shoresh counselor and now is the Field Director, and he heads up the Shoresh Adult Education constituency. Rabbi Stein is a Judaics teacher at Beth Tfiloh Community School. He and his wife Charna have five children, Yisroel Yaakov, Shoshana, Nechama, Michoel, and Malki.

Phran has been serving as Shoresh’s Assistant Director for the past ten years. Although her background is in communications and film production, Phran is involved with every aspect of Shoresh. Phran came to Shoresh through her in-laws, Dr. Robert & Marjorie Edelman, who started the camp 29 years ago. Phran and her husband Adam have 4 children, Aaron, Ella, Tamar, and Avi.


 
   
 
 
This summer will be Sharon’s seventh summer at Camp Shoresh. As Director of Camp Admissions, Sharon is in charge of all aspects of processing camp applications. During off-season, she ensures that the Shoresh office is run in an effective and efficient manner. Sharon has four children, Brachie, Shoshana, A.D., and Dina.

With 14 years experience at Camp Shoresh, Perri will be joining us once again as the Upper Girls’ head counselor and Shoresh Program Director. She is responsible for all scheduling facets for Camp Shoresh. Perri earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Stern College. Perri and her husband Shraga have three daughters, Leeba, Nava and Shalva.


 
 
Yakov Majeski will enhance our program for a third year in 2007.  Before coming to Shoresh, he was an MVP with Camp Sholom in Silver Spring as a head counselor for six summers. Originally from Brooklyn NY, he sang in the Miami Boys Choir as a kid. A local teacher, he recently completed his masters in Education from George Washington University. Yaakov and his wife Shanni live in Silver Spring with their 4 kids, Penina, Moshe, Avi, and Avigial.

 
 
In his seventh summer at Shoresh, Nate heads up Shoresh’s Potomac constituency in addition to being the Lower Boys’ head counselor. Nate has a total of 29 years of camp experience, spending 23 years at the JCC of Greater Washington summer camp, before joining the Shoresh staff. He serves as Senior Judaics Educator for Congregation Beth Sholom in Potomac, MD. and as a Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutor at the Beth Tfiloh Community School in Baltimore.
 
 
This will be MollyBeth’s third summer at Camp Shoresh. Before coming to Shoresh, MollyBeth worked at Capital Camps for eleven summers. MollyBeth has a Master’s Degree in Jewish Education from the University of Judaism in Los Angeles and teaches third grade general studies at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville where she is also the coach for the first place JV Dance team as well as three dance teams in the lower school. She also worked as a clown from 1991-1999.  MollyBeth and her husband Stuart live in Rockville with their two sons, Joey and Benny and an assortment of unruly animals.

 
 
Avi Gross joined the Shoresh staff four years ago as Nature Director. Avi leads all outdoor activities and specializes in team building and collective group work. His expertise in these fields is a tremendous asset to Camp Shoresh. Avi received his Masters Degree in Social Work from Yeshiva University’s Wurzweiler School of Social Work. He is a school social worker for Weinberg Academy and resides in Baltimore with his wife Marla and children, Sarah Dina, Tehilla, Aryeh and Akiva.

 
 
Elwood “WOODY” Hartman is in his fifth year at Shoresh. Originally from Fort Jackson, South Carolina, Woody brings tons of experience to Camp Shoresh. Ask him about his work at Elion Concrete, Snapple, and Cheney Construction. In addition to taking care of the grounds at Shoresh, he is also the President at CEO of Woodman Hauling, a home demolition and hauling company.
